The Bolton Branch of the Manchester & Lancashire Family History Society will have its next meeting Wednesday October 5th at 7.30pm at the Bolton Cricket Club, Green Lane, Bolton BL3 2JB. The local historian Paul Cross will give a talk entitled "Cotton Comes to Lancashire" to show conditions in 19th C Lancashire cotton mills. He plans to discuss the relationship between the owners and workers, describe and demonstrate some of the 35 different kinds of jobs that they did, and the home life that they came from, with a view to helping members own research.
