Not being familiar with Manchester Cathedral would SKS help me out? I am looking about the marriage of John Collings and Anne Hampson Dec. 14, 1821. I think they were not of the area and I think it was less expensive to get married there than somewhere else. Did you have to be a member of the Cathedral to get married there, or could you come from somewhere else, and establish a residence of 6 weeks while the banns were read? In other words did you have to live in Mancheser 6 weeks before the wedding? John and Anne moved to Radcliffe but when he died or was buried Dec27th, 1835 at St. Thomas Church, Radclife age 35. In 1836 St Thomas sent settlement papers to Cheatham. Can someone explain this situation to me. Thank You Donna Collinge Martens, Muskegon,Mi. DJMFLAG@aol.com
