Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me push down 2 walls? In Aug 1886 John Morris married Sophia Bulmer in Bolton but I cannot get any further back than this. Their marriage certificate shows John’s father as William Morris, a painter, and I believe his mother’s name was Nancy (from census) but I don’t know her maiden name. There were way too many Morris’s around for me to locate the right one. The certificate gives no information on Sophia’s father and I so far have been unable to locate her on any census prior to 1891 when she was married to John. Marriages Jun 1865 Booth Nancy Bolton 8c 250 Morris William Bolton 8c 250 In the 1871 census, there is a William Booth staying with them and noted as brother. He is also a Painter by trade. I'm taking an educated guess that the above is the marriage of John's parents.
