Yes, the Ashton family were my great grandparents and their family, and the Kirkham's were related by marriage, I know the Kirkham's lived at the second cottage from George Street end, and the Ashton's lived next door - They all had small gardens, and at one time they were back to back houses. James Kirkham, who is recorded at 22 Church St in 1891, was my relative. I too would be very grateful for access to the photo of the cottage(s). Also to know what the Ashton / Kirkham connection was - I've not come across it.
