    3. Sorry People but I guess I got too clever by half (must be an American expression) I wrote an e-mail about my g-g-g-grandfather the above John Collings (Collinge) and thought I would save myself some work and time by forwarding it to two other lists. Well, of course it didn't work (and I thought I was so clever {:>)) I am looking for my g-g-g-grandfather John Collings (Collinge) as I am hoping it might open a plethora of information. Wrong. John Collings was born circa 1796-1800 I don't know where he came from but my Uncle thought the family might be in the Oldham area. John Collings on Dec. 14, 1821 married Anne Hampson who was b St.Mary's Church Radcliffe 1799-1802 They moved to Radcliffe after the marriage where John was a counterpane weaver and rented 15 acres to be a husbandman. He died Dec. 27th, 1835 and was buried at St. Thomas Church,Raccliffe. Church records say he was 35 years old when he died so that would make him born in 1800. In 1836 the church sent settlement papers to Cheetham but the family remained in Radcliffe. They had four boys Thomas b. 23, matthew b. 1826 (my g-g-grandfaher) James b. 1829, and Hampson b. 1834. Hampson died when he was about 5. In 1841 Ann had an illigitimate daughter Sarah by Peter Settle. I am on social security if someone knows a good researcher that's good and not too outrageous, I would be interested. Donna Collinge Martens, Muskegon,Michigan DJMFLAG@aol.com I
