I am hoping that someone will be able to help or give me some suggestions on where to look. I am looking for the death dates of my family who lived in Bolton and later moved to St. Annes-on-Sea and was living there in 1926 when my great-grandfather, Heinrich Johannes Christoph Gustav Erber (aka Harry Gustav Erber, b. 1879), gained British citizenship. He had married a 2nd time after the death of my great-grandma Henrietta Bertha Roberts (between 1980-1914), to Sarah Jane Elliott. I am mostly looking for the death information of his son Neville Harry Erber who had been born 12 March 1918 in Bolton, though it would be neat to know when my great-grandparents died also. Thank you for your time. Michele Bender
Hello. I'm still trying to track my Alice Hamer married ? Groves. Since she was Lady Groves at some point, would that make her husband Lord Groves? I went to deaths - and there are three Alice Grove deaths which are possible - but the most likely is Alice Groves born about 1853 (she was) died 4/4 1909 in Prestwich, Lancs. 8d 217 If the only way to get more info is to order the certificate, I'll do that - but I wondered if there's a way which isn't too difficult to see what info is available - as in her husband's name and I might be able to work from there... If anyone has access to this information, please could you let me know? Alice was born in Breightmet or maybe registered Bolton in 1853. Her father was my great-great grandfather. I have a photo of her with my grandfather when he was a little boy about 1895. Thank you so much for any help and suggestions, Ros in Montreal
Hi. I have some Guffoggs in Bolton. any connection? I can share that info - though there's not a lot... Ros

The only graveyard I know of in the area of Moor Lane is now occupied by St. Paul's, Deansgate. Recent remedial works to this church have revealed several unidentified human remains which were thought to have been paupers, which have been reinterred at Walmsley Unitarian Chapel. There are expected to be more as these works progress. The identity of these people will probably never be known. Valerie -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Donna did you get my e-mail telling you I found Anne Collinge and children in the 1841 census but not John? I have heard from two other Hampson lines this month, Richard Hampson and George Hampson. Hi Stevan, Well spotted! I'm sure that must be the right one. Ancestry have decided it says Goodwich, but it looks a bit more like Gooderich to me. I'm used to the many misspellings and mistranscriptions of Thornley, and I tried as many options as I could think of for GOODRICH, but I missed that one. Thanks again, Rgds, Bob Thornley, Bolton From: "Stevan" <stevan@navets.freeserve.co.uk> Hi Bob Could this be your Henry P Goodrich in 1871 RG10/1873 Folio: 48 Page: 16 <snip>

Hi Martha, I can't help with Bernard LEFLEY, but by coincidence, last night I was struggling to find Henry Portrey GOODRICH in the census returns. He appears on FreeBMD born June Q 1852 in Thetford, then marrying Alice Jane THORNLEY (this is where I got interested) in Bolton in March Q 1877. He's mentioned as H P GOODRICH husband of Alice on a headstone at New Chapel URC, Horwich, recording Alice's death aged 24 on 8 Jan 1878, possibly in childbirth. I can't find him in any census other than the 1881 where he's Henry GOODERICH (sic), a fruiterer born Methwald, Norfolk, living with Alice Jane's parents John & Alice THORNLEY. I wonder now if he could have been with your Bolton GOODRICHes in PA? Best wishes, Rgds, Bob Thornley, Bolton From: "KENNETH GOODRICH" <goodrich@775.net> > Hi, my great grandfather was born in Bolton April 1828...they wre not > Catholics...would there be records of him..William Lefley born to Robert > and Amy Evans Lefley...Does anyone know of a Bernard Lefley...the name > Bernard was given one of his children in Pennsylvania...thank you. martha > goodrich
