    1. THOMAS BURCHALL HART
    2. pneanne
    3. Hi Sue, I think you have the birth certificate for Thomas Burchall Hart, father Thomas Hart, mother Theresa Hart, nee Burchall on 15.1.1884. I came across the church record for the baptism at SS Peter and Paul's and there is a note at the bottom of the entry which states that Thomas married Amelia Heyes 1910 U.S.A. I wonder who gave the information to the church and why it says U.S.A. and not Canada? Best Wishes, Anne in Bolton.

    3. Hi Joyce, I have had a look at SS. Peter and Paul's records for the baptism of Mary Alice in 1883. The only one I could find was Maria Gryer born 26.5.1882 c. 4.6.1882, mother Margaret Gryer, 38 Bk. Andrew Street. Godparent Helena Pattinon? I checked 1882 to 1884. The record showed that she married Robert Ingham on 4.7.1908. I found the marriage in St. Patrick's records. 4.7.1908 Robert Ingham, 25 Ormerod Street, father James Ingham and Mariam Grier, 16 Bk. Ormerod Street, father Michael Swift. The witnesses were William Grier and Margaret Ellen Crook. When I was looking at the GRO Index for Patrick Scott, I found some death records. I checked at SS. Peter and Paul's to see if they were there. 18th September, Patrick Scott, parish, 16 months Scarlet Fever. 19th June, 1876 Patrick Scott aged 2, buried 21st June, Cemetery. There was another death for a Patrick Scott in the GRO Index, who died in the September Quarter 1884 Bolton, born 1820. I tried to find this burial, but the records for SS. Peter and Paul's only seemed to go up to 1880. Best Wishes, Anne in Bolton. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joyce Lennard" <joycelennard@shaw.ca> To: <ENG-LAN-BOLTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, May 07, 2006 3:32 AM Subject: Re: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] SCOTT BAPTISMS - ST. 3. Hi all, I just got a will back, (John Markland d1860 on the off chance anyone is interested) and I've got a few questions: 1. Where is Salt Pie Row? I can't see it on a map, though James Riding said this in the list: "Salt Pie Yard, located behind the Gypsy's Tent pub on Red Lion Brow" - if so where's Red Lion Brow? White Lion Brow I know - my grandfather was born there - but not Red Lion Brow. 2. He leaves a ruck of houses on Salt Pie Row - 4 "double" houses, plus a place in Spring Gardens and 220 quid to his kids, yet the estate is still valued at less than £600. Rooting around on the gimpnet reveals that £600 is worth £37K now with inflation - that doesn't tie in with 5-9 houses. Am I missing something? I tried to find a site with historical house price data but I couldn't, does anyone know of anything? Thanks a lot, Paul. ------------ "Beer - it's not just a breakfast drink!"

    3. Hello list, I think I have found my Noah Hampson on the 1841 census. He is on the genealogist for 1841 but omitted from ancestry's 1841. The genealogist listed a John Hampson also 65 but it should have read age 35 according to the actual page. John was a block printer. I believe Noah is John's father. They are at Castleton Moor, Salford. I have been searching in vain for a Noah Hampson married to a Mary who are the parents of my Dan Hampson 1804. I have only found a sister for Dan in 1806. I have checked all the usual places but are now at a stand still. Does anyone have any ideas of where to look now. Val Chadwick USA

    3. Hi Anne, Thanks for all those look ups. I have found where the baby, Maria Gryer fits into the family tree. It's interesting that she gives a fathers name, Micheal Swift, on the marriage record. I wonder if he was also the father of Margaret's other children William and James? The Patrick Scott death you found in 1884 is my great great grandfather. He died in the Bolton Union Workhouse. Interestingly that record gives his place of birth as Foxford, Ireland. The best record I have of where the Irish Scotts came from. I visited his grave in Tonge while I was in Bolton. Was there a year date with the baby Patrick Scott who died Sept. 18 of Scarlet Fever? He may be the Patrick Scott who was born in 1854, son of James Scott. Thanks again for your help Anne. I'll sort these Scotts out yet.
