Hi Joan I have been waiting to see if anyone else could help you as my info is limited. Tottington is in Bury so info on the children of Thomas and James and there brother John should be found in records in the Bury area .The two farms were off Harwood rd in Tottington but I think they must have changed names over the years. I live in Tottington but I only came here I few years ago if I can find any info on the farms (or family) from my neighbours in the village I will let you know Keith ps some of ancestors are from the village so I have researched here ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joan Bridges" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2008 1:51 PM Subject: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] Sheep Hill Farm, Tottington > Hello List members. > > I am on the trail of the children of Ellen Calderley & Thomas Leach. > > In 1891 Son Thomas Leach [born 1856] was a farmer at Lower Sheep Hill farm > Tottington, Lower End (RG12/3129/120/14) > > In 1901 Thomas was a Farmer: Sheep Hill, Tottington, Lancs. > (RG13/3635/61/7) > > Also in 1901, older brother James Leach [born 1847] was a > Farmer at Bridges Farm, Tottington, Lancs. Hello List. Isn't there a list that enables us to send an attachment, so others can maybe decipher what we can't. I have a marriage certificate but am unable to decipher the bride's father's occupation. Regards. Perle Brooking. Younghusband. South Australia.
Hi Perle, You can send direct to me and I'll see if I can work it out. I have a marriage certificate but am unable >to decipher the bride's father's occupation. > Hi Perle You can't send attachments via any RootsWeb list. What you can do, however, is post a message on the Lancashire message board and add an attachment to that. The board is at <http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.lan.general/mb.ashx?view=boards> or <http://tinyurl.com/27d4va>. Go to the board, click on "create a new thread" and post your message. At the bottom of the message form you'll see "Attachments: Attach a file". You can click on that and select the image you wish to attach. In order to post to the board you have to register, but that process is pretty quick and painless. All you need to provide is a valid e-mail address and a name. Once you've posted your message, let the list know what the subject line is so we can look at the image and possibly decipher the father's occupation. Hope that helps! Best wishes, Lynne
You need to put it on a website or send to individuals. I'd be happy to take a look and I am sure many others would too. There are plenty of sites where you can upload pictures free, it is best to put them there and then put URLs in the message to the list - FLICKR, PICASA etc You can't beat letting people see the actual document or photograph themselves rather than trying to describe something. Hi My Grundy line basically stops at James c1815 and Ellen (Holliday) as they only had 4 Girls Margaret 1842, Elizabeth 1844, Ellen 1848 and Hannah (my G Grandmother) 1850. I have no further info on Elizabeth but Ellen married a Thomas Morley and died in 1874 then Thomas married her sister Margaret who then died in 1883. Thomas and Ellen had 3 children Clarrisa, Margaret and James but Thomas and Margaret had no children that I could find. Hannah married John Slack and had 7 children the youngest Albert my Grandfather. I have not succeeded in going further back than James as have not had the time or money so get certificates etc needed as yet. Hi Lynne, Stephan and Elyse, Many thanks for your replies. My Grundy connection is only through marriage when my relative William Stuart married Sarah Ellen Grundy in 1882 so I have not investigated the Grundy line particularly. My interest is in tracing anyone connected to William Grundy Stuart of Wigan who died in May 1956 and whose Grundy cousin from Bolton registered his death. Sorry I cannot be of any help to you at all. Best wishes. Julie _________________________________________________________________ Telly addicts unite! http://www.searchgamesbox.com/tvtown.shtml

Some interesting stuff there, I have downloaded quite a few. Some years ago I spotted a few films in the North West Film Archive that sounded as if they might have some connections with my family. I was able to get them to put them on a VHS tape for a modest cost and I think one film has my Grandfather on it.
