    1. Re: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] ZIPPORAH LEE b 1896 Bolton
    2. Alice, many thanks for this help. I have been trying to find this lady for a long time with no result. I am pretty certain of her date of birth from the 1910 census, when she was age 5. After that, her whole family seems to have disappeared. Her father was Thomas H Lee b c1867 Bolton. Her mother was Jane Kenyon b c1873 Bolton, to James and Jane Kenyon nee Crossley. Zipporah had an older sister Elsie who died before Porah was born. This is all I know. Any further help or advice very welcome. Thanks again, Mary In a message dated 05/02/2008 22:08:57 GMT Standard Time, [email protected] writes: I have been through the GRO indexes from 1912 to 1932 which would seem to cover the likely marriage years and there is no sign of the lady. 3. As this marriage does not appear on either Lancs B M D or Free B M D it would seem that you need to check, or have checked the GRO Index. The groom's surname will be included in the reference at this date so it should be a touch easier. Any idea when the children were born, to give someone a rough time frame to check ? 2. Antony, Thank you for this. I have checked Ancestry information with no luck. How do I check the GRO Index? I do not know when the daughters were born so have no guide as to when the marriage might have taken place. 2. Valerie lirakis
    3. Hi Margaret, I've just looked for Vauze House on the 1891 Census. This is what I found. Vose House, Wigan Lane, Coppull, Chorley Richard Ainscough, Coal Mine Underlooker, 45, born Wrightington A few doors further along Wigan Lane there is a Morris family as follows: William Morris, 60 Gen.Labourer, born Shevington Margaret, wife, 66, born Wrightington Susannah, daur, 20, Basket Maker, born Shevington 1901 Census - the Ainscough's are still living at Vose House, but the Morris's have moved to Hunger Hill, Westhoughton. In view of what Martin says relating to the age of the post card it is unlikely that this would be the same Mrs.Morris, but I throw it in for what it's worth. There was no-one called Dorothy in the Ainscough household. The Electoral Roll would tell the tale. 3. Hi Judith, probably not relevant but there are a lot of Smith and Brown burials at St. Paul's Astley Bridge churchyard. Also whilst doing the marriages. for the same church,I have found a Samuel Hanson and Ann Gornall's marriage 10 th Sep 1870 ,Samuel's father was Joshua Hanson.Might not be the same family but thought I would mention it.You can access the burials on the OPC site. 3. Hello Valerie Many thanks for your reply and help. Susey was 75 years old when she died in Bolton. In 1881 she was living with her husband Samuel in North Bierley, Yorkshire. Samuel died in 1890. In 1891 she was still living in Yorkshire but had her married daughter, Mary Ann Hanson BROWN, and son in law, Smith BROWN, living with her. At sometime between 1891 and 1893 Susey and her daughter and son in law moved to Bolton. Her son in law, Smith BROWN, died in Bolton in 1893. In 1901 Susey, who was now blind, was still living with her daughter in Bolton in Lever Street aged 74 years. I have been in contact with Bolton Archives who were most helpful and searched the municipal cemeteries but said she couldn't be found there and that the most likely place to find her would be a church graveyard. Thank you for the info re St Michael's in Great Lever but what a shame about your reader. You can always bet that if something gets broken during a house move that it is not something that is easy to replace. Good luck. My 3xgt grandfather's sister Susey Holmes HANSON born Shelf, Yorkshire died on 22 February 1902 in Lever Street, Bolton. She was the widow of Samuel HANSON. There was an inquest held 24 February 1902 and her death was registered on 25 February 1902. She is not buried in one of the municipal cemeteries so I am presuming she is buried in a church graveyard. Could anyone advise me please, of any possible graveyards where she might be buried? Also, are there any transcribed burial registers for graveyards around the Lever Street area? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you. Kind regards Judith Kettlewell

A marriage between THOMAS BRETT and HARRIET WOMACK 8 may 1886 catholic chapel pilkington street ,i sent for birth certificate from 1881 census 48 howell croft bolton .where it showed THOMAS age 14 father john, but on his marriage cert he is 21,almost 2 years older,i cant find another birth with father john for that time period. On the marriage cert it reads that HARRIET WOMACK resided at 246 derby street and THOMAS at 7 fletcher street ,thats next to it on the map.but the certificte says its fletcher street kersley.i would hardly think thats right.is there any way i can check the church entry that would say if in deed it was the fletcher street next to derby street,THOMAS was bleacher operative and HARRIET paper bag examiner.her father was ELIJAH WOMACK cabinet maker ,cant find anyone that would fit in lancashire but theres one in yorkshire that could fit..thankyou for any help you can offer regards john morriss Deal kent :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: Except for personal messages, please post replies to the list.
