Hello Could anyone please help with the Census record below which I am not able to complete. I wonder if any can complete the reference or can give me more details. Little Lever (Hale (Hall) Lane) James Darlington 50 2211/552 Ann Darlington 50 2211/552 Peter Darlington19 Coalminer 2211/552 James Darlington 14 Coalminer 2211/552 Adam Darlington 12 Coalminer 2211/552 Also whether there are any other family members. I have not been able to obtain a copy of the census from ancestry. Thank you Margaret Booth --------------------------------- Sent from Yahoo! Mail. A Smarter Inbox.
I take it you realise that you can download the whole book? Every day or so I have another search and keep finding new stuff. It is worth registering with the sites so can save your My Library on GOOGLE and Bookmarks on Internet Archive. I have several books by my Grandfather's cousin downloaded but the one that I really want was written by my Great Grandfather's brother but that one is very elusive because not many copies were printed. Martin, Many thanks for the book sites. I was able to read and print pages from one of the books regarding James Hargreaves and the Spinning Jenny. This is wonderful. Thanks again. Maxine, in the States
You need to rejoin the URL as it has been split into 2 lines in transmission. It will then work. Have just seen my request on my email for SKS to check the marriage of John ISHERWOOD =Jane BABBETT at Emmanuel Church Bolton. This was Registered in the December quarter of 1865 not the marriage itself in December. The film at Bolton Archives is 1857 -1947 D5 and on freebmd's 14/1/430 was in the last column. I don't understand how that works but I am sure it makes finding the entry much easier. Thank you again Barbara Pritchard New Zealand
Would SKS when at the Bolton Archives be willing to check a marriage for me. It is: Marriages Emmanuel 1857 - 1947 Microfilm D5 ISHERWOOD John = BABBETT Jane Dec ΒΌ 1865 Emmanuel 14/1/430 Thank you in advance. I do not have access to these records and they haven't been filmed by the LDS Church. Barbara Pritchard New Zealand

I wonder if someone could take a look at these whilst in the archives. Not to do a lookup, just to see if they look useful. I suspect the visitors' book might just be distinguished visitors. Does the minute book have any reference to individual inmates by name or just the general running of the orphanage?
