    3. Hi Sally, Don't know if it will help, but there was a family called Chew, living in the street next to Park Rd. School (off Audley) in the 1930's.... I think he was called Alan Chew, and there was also a plumbers shop of the name Chew actually in Grimshaw Park about the same time. They could have been attenders to Christ Church or Park Rd Congregational Churches. Regards Sheila (Fife)

    1. [BLACKBURN] The National Archives' new catalogue
    2. Lynne
    3. The National Archives (TNA) will be replacing their current Catalogue and DocumentsOnline service with "Discovery." See <http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/news/692.htm?news=rss> for details. One comment written about the new catalogue was that entering a date range resulted in no hits even though the record was revealed after removing the date range. It might be wise to use caution when narrowing search criteria. Happy searching! Lynne

    3. Hello Cecilia, The Sarah E Chew on the 1891 census states she was born in Blackburn, not in the West Derby RD, but I'll have a dig around and see what I can find. Thanks again, Sally

    3. Hi Sally, Could this be her? CHEW, Sarah Edith A Registration district: West Derby County: Lancashire Year of registration: 1890 Quarter of registration: Apr-May-Jun Mother's maiden name: Not available before 1911 Q3 Volume no: 8B Page no:694 I am sorry. I haven't followed the details of the family you have been looking for, so apologies if this is way off the beaten track. John was born on 11 December 1862 in Gisburn, West Yorkshire, so that looks to be a co-incidence. Thanks for pointing it out though as it will warn me about possibly tracking the wrong John Chew in America. I believe the 1891 census entry is him, although finding the birth of Sarah E abt 1890 in the Blackburn registration district would have been a good indication that I was on the right lines there. 3. Hello Marian, I've shouted at it. I've told it to pick a window that I'll throw it through. I've tried sending it to its room.... :o) The box is on its last legs and a new one is being sent, but being Easter, who knows when it will get here. Only the wizard skills of my husband has been able to get it going again, but the heartbeat gets weaker every day. Glad you're finding some of the updates are in your areas of interest, have you found any more information on your ancestors? Regards, Sally
