Good morning, everyone, and Happy Mother's Day! Today would be a good day for everyone to mention a Lancashire mother. Could be your own mother, your grandmother, great grandmother, or some other mother that lived in Lancashire. Perhaps you have a story to tell, a bit of data to share, or a query. There are an awful lot of subscribers to the Lancashire lists and you've all been very quiet lately. Let's hear from all of you! Kind regards, Lynne list admin.

Hello everyone, Whilst there was no record update today on the OPC website, there was a message to say... "13 February 2014 Today is the tenth anniversary of the Lancashire Online Parish Clerks website! A big thank you to all the volunteers who have helped us to reach this milestone. We are also very appreciative of all the help, support and encouragement we have received." Congratulations and my personal thanks to everyone involved on the project who have given their time freely to co-ordinate, transcribe and provide access to the vast array of records held on the website. I don't know where my tree would be without you! Regards, Sally

Hi all, As the winter is being such a miserable affair, I have been taking some time to go over some old brick walls. Some of you may be aware of the website, Dusty Docs, but for those who haven't heard of it, it's a online resource that covers the UK (plus a handful of other territories) and provides links to free websites in the British Isles that contain parish records. The Lancashire links connect to such places as Freereg, Lancs OPC and the Lancashire Will Search as well as other important sites like Genuki, which I've always found invaluable when researching a given area. The parishes covered are listed alphabetically so you can easily see if your place of interest has any relevant links. Hope someone finds the site as useful as I have! http://www.dustydocs.com Regards, Sally
>From Wellcome Images (http://wellcomeimages.org/): "... This means that they can be used and manipulated freely, for commercial or personal purposes, so long as the original source is acknowledged. Perhaps you'll find something relative (pun intended) to your ancestors or the place(s) they lived. Happy searching! Lynne
