I attach the following reply from the Family Records Centre concerning the fact that in searching through the census returns for villages in the Woodchurch area for transcription /enumerator spelling errors for the name Poune, I discovered that the parish of Smarden was missing from the 1841 census. Unfortunately the 1841 census returns for Smarden, Kent have not survived and were therefore never transferred to The National Archives and there is therefore nothing to search on Ancestry.co.uk.
