Following on from Lois' information, I can add the following. Samuel WOOGATE born abt 1734 (I have him as being born in Kenardington) married Elizabeth BROWN (baptised 20th Nov 1743) on 30th March 1761 at Kenardington. Elizabeth was the daughter of John BROWN & Elizabeth CLOVER of Shadoxhurst. The entry at Kenardington gives Samuel's surname as WOODGET, but he clearly signs it as WOODGATE. The witnesses were Moses MASTURS and Stephen MORRIS. As to Elizabeth WESSON who married the later Samuel WOODGATE and then George WRAIGHT, I wondered if George was perhaps a relation of Ada Annie WRAIGHT who married Edwin George KING of Woodchurch in 1905. For those of you who have a copy of my BROWN family tree, I have to admit to finding an error with my great great grandfathers date of death. Whilst making copies of the certificates that I hold, to record on a CD, I happened to notice that I had the wrong death certificate for John BROWN born 30th Aug 1818 in Warehorne. Research quickly found him in the 1901 Census living with his daughter Catharine (spelt with a K in 1901) and her husband John KING in Woodchurch. I was then able to find his death in FreeBMD as Tenterden 1910 March qtr vol 2a Page 559 and that he was buried in Woodchurch on 7th January 1910. Best wishes Glynn BROWN in Australia
