Thanks Lois The Homewood family you mention can be traced back to Thomas born 1725 in Maidstone. A lot of the Family emigrated over the years including William b1823 who was staying in Woodchurch at the time of his departure. He sailed on the Italy with his wife and 13 children ( he eventually had 18 Children) and arrived New York on 18 April 1871. The fare steerage class was $26 but there was "an unlimited supply of good and wholesome provisions and fresh drinking water" He died in 1890 in Wilmington, Delaware. Unfortunately I can't connect this family to the Homewood's living in Wood.
