Hi John - I have a particular interest in Warehorne. My great Grandmother came from Warehorne & lived variously at the Leacon & Warehorne Green. The World's Wonder would certainly have been used by her father (Thomas Wooley Manning) in the Leacon days, although he may have switched to the Woolpack when living on the Green! Whilst researching my greatgrandmother's family I beame increasingly interested in the whole village of Warehorne and have begun transcribing and collating ALL the censuses for everyone who lived there from 1841 to 1901- ths is about 2/3rds complete. It is really interesting to see who did what & who were the permanent families & who who were transient. There does seem to be quite a lot of moving about. My direct family surnames for Warehorne are WOOLLEY MANNING, JENNER & BROWN. There are connections with the BOURNES by marriage. I am gradually building up a picture of Warehorne during the census years and would welcome any contribuitions such as your research on World's Wonder - I did not receive the attachment you sent, so is it possible to resend directly to me? Once I have all the census information collated I will be able to send you details of any individual or family in Warehorne. I hope to add to census information with contributions from those who have researched any of the families - either BMD's or anecdotes. I would also like any information about anything to do with Warehorne in this period (may expand later).- e.g. history of buildings, events etc. As you are likely to meet folks who may have had ancestors who were locals, it would be great if you could pass on any info.
