I think to get any help you would need to give more information about your immediate ancestors, names, dates etc What is the date on the postcard? The booklet "Then and Now" says that at the beginning of the 20th century, the shop at 1-3 The Green at Woodchurch was both a grocery and a drapery and was owned by Mr Jarvis, who sold out in 1906 to Mr Fisher. This sounds like the same shop. Peter Walker
Hi G (Fisher) I live in Woodchurch 100 yards from the shop that Mr.Fischer had early in the 20th century. Recently I was trawling the censuses (1841-1891) to figure out who lived in that property and its neighbours. Mr.Fisher arrived there after 1901, buying the shop from a Horace Jarvis. I know an Yvonne Russell whose family bought the shop from Mr.Fisher about 1910 I think. She knows a lot about your Mr.Fisher but I am unclear what you are trying to find out. I have no more time now as I have to go off for 3 hours to fetch grandchildren for a stay here. Let me know what you want to find out and maybe I can oblige Cheers - Jon (Chaplin) -----Original Message----- From: eng-ken-woodchurch-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:eng-ken-woodchurch-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Peter Walker Sent: 09 April 2007 09:06 To: eng-ken-woodchurch@rootsweb.com; ENG-KEN-WOODCHURCH-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ENG-KEN-WOODCHURCH] Fisher eng-ken-woodchurch-bounces@rootsweb.com wrote: > To whom it may concern, > I'm a young guy from australia researching(sort of) my > family history and as i am getting no help from my > immediate family, i thought i might call on you guys > as you seem the most likely option.
