    3. I recently received the following message from Philip Paine. It was intended for the whole group, so here it is. I'm sure Philips's research will be extremely interesting to those of us with connections to the Paine and Bingham families. Gary -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Family tree on its way to you soon. Date: Sat, 7 Apr 2007 22:12:13 +0100 From: Philip Paine <philip@ppaine8.wanadoo.co.uk> To: <ENG-KEN-WOODCHURCH-admin@rootsweb.com> Hi, I have just completed my Paine family tree back to 1690, and what with photographs of pertinent locations such at houses lived in, churches where relatives were married and a few of their graves, the booklet runs to about 30 A4 pages. I may well include photocopies of birth, death and marriage certificates that I purchased along the way too. My grand-father married into the Shadoxhurst Bingham’s so it may well tie up a few loose ends there too. In short, I have got back 10 generations and all came from the Ashford area, with marriages occurring in Ashford (Catholic church and Methodist church) Kenardington, Shadoxhurst, Woodchurch and the farthest one back …. Ospringe (near Faversham). The only marriage outside Kent was that of my father who had to travel to Halifax to marry my mother in 1955, although this proved an ill-fated decision as they divorced in 1970. I will hopefully deliver the booklet (much of it in colour) to the museum within two weeks. Philip Paine.
