I haven't used Multimap (www.multimap.co.uk) for a while, so was very pleasantly surprised to see there are now scrollable high-resolution images of the village available via the 'aerial' button. Used in combination with the online 1874 OS map for Woodchurch (www.old-maps.co.uk), this is an extremely useful resource for locating properties around the village, especially outlying farms and cottages. On other mapping sites, this level of detail was previously only available for strategically important towns and cities, such as London and Dover. Hmm, I wonder if this is something we should mention to the parish council? Although, perhaps the council is already aware of the nuclear silos near the Bonny Cravat and, of course, everyone knows the mill conceals an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of taking out Hamstreet at a moment's notice.
