    3. Thanks Ken, I have 'My' George Bourne b 1822 - married Mary Ann Baldock - alas at the moment due to a computer meltdown I cannot find the references for this - as i recall it was from some Census information and their marriage certificate and I thought from his gravestone ..... It is from their marriage certificate that I gathered James was his father and occupation was given as carpenter - but I couldn't find anything conclusive as to which James ... I have come across Babrbara Baseden on a few occasions but as I didn't know for certain that it was the correct James I havn't added her! Do you have a reference for George being 1815? 3. Thanks Lois The Homewood family you mention can be traced back to Thomas born 1725 in Maidstone. A lot of the Family emigrated over the years including William b1823 who was staying in Woodchurch at the time of his departure. He sailed on the Italy with his wife and 13 children ( he eventually had 18 Children) and arrived New York on 18 April 1871. The fare steerage class was $26 but there was "an unlimited supply of good and wholesome provisions and fresh drinking water" He died in 1890 in Wilmington, Delaware. Unfortunately I can't connect this family to the Homewood's living in Wood. 1. [ENG-KEN-WOODCHURCH] Where to look?
    2. Matthew Bourne
    3. Hi, I wonder if anyone can advise a good place to look for The Bournes! I know there has been a lot of discussion on this list regarding them - I am related to Park House Farm George Bourne (1822 - 1897) and all I know is his father was James - a carpenter - but which James I do not know... However on to my actual request - My sister lives in Milton Keynes and is going to visit Woodchurch and Tenterden on Friday of next week and would like to know where to visit - ie church, museum - is Park House Farm still around ... anything really that she can tie into our Bournes and photgraph etc .. or any documents that pertain to them - I am not sure what the museum actually houses?! Any pointers would be very gratefully received! Thanks very much, Matt Bourne Matthew Bourne RGN BSc(hons)Ost, DipHerb(InstNH) Registered Osteopath Member Of The International College of Applied Kinesiology www.health-haven.com www.homeovitics.co.uk

    3. Bob, My appologies! I meant 1740 but not Elizabeth! It should have been - Mary dau of George Bourne 1712-90 and Elizabeth Brown was baptised at Warehorne Feb 22nd 1740. I have a note that she married Henry Tomset but no date or other info on latter. 3. Dear Bob I think it unlikely that Elizabeth Bourne was born in 1740. This would have meant she had her last child at the age of 62 - she would have married at the age of 42 when her husband was 25 - she was aged 87 when she died but her age was given as 62! She had a brother christened in 1739, another in 1740 and a sister in 1741. The only LDS IGI references I take seriously are those where the file/batch numbers begin with a C - christenings or M - marriages. These are usually for just one parish and invariably incomplete - but the entries are usually correct though they (whoever they are or where) get confused with dates before 1753 Jan 1 - Mar 24. Otherwise they may contain an element of wishful thinking.
