Their children's births began in 1836, registered in Huntingdonshire. John, b May 31, 1836 - died soon after. George, b Feb. 26, 1839, Ramsey. (1881: butler in Lancashire) Charles, b October 15, 1841, Warboys(?). (1881 had public house in Warboys) Sarah. b June 7, 1844, Ramsay. (1881 housekeeper in Lancashire) John, b Feb. 5, 1847. (1881 USA, Worcester, Mass.) Joseph, b July 7, 1856. (1881 USA, Worcester, MA or Stafford Springs, CT) Frederick, b July 26 1857, Hunts. Moved to Kidderminster. (1881: Worcester, MA,USA} Family moved from Hunts to Lancs between 1857 and 1863. Thomas Townsend, the father, and several sons worked in cotton mills near Manchester. One last child, my grandfather : James Edwin, b Sept. 14, 1863 Lancs. Emigrated to Worcester, MA, USA in 1886) Can anyone help me find the Huntingdonshire roots and history of this family? ? Which unfortunately means that the registers are only available in Hunts Record Office, although they do run an online research service, for which they make a modest charge.
