    3. With apologies to anyone to whom I've already corresponded about this, I am interested in any information about a couple who lived in your area in the latter half of the nineteenth century. They are Julia and Henry Only Griffiths. Julia (nee Griffiths) and Henry lived in St. Neots from sometime after 1870, I believe. He was a bishop in the New Connexion Methodist Church and died in St. Neots in 1880. Julia, age 79, was listed as the principal of a ladies school living on Cambridge Street, St. Neots, in the 1891 British census. She died in St. Neots in 1895. For a book chapter or perhaps even a biography, my special interest is Julia Griffiths Crofts. In the late 1840s and early 1850s, she worked in the United States, helping the abolitionist Frederick Douglass publish his newspaper, the North Star. Upon returning to England, she continued anti-slavery work. I am particularly interested in finding letters or other family papers, but the record on Julia and Henry is so sketchy that any clues or recommendations will be most appreciated. I shall be in England later this month and plan on spending several days doing exploratory research in the St. Neots area. Thank you, Frank Fee **************************** Dr. Frank E.
