The Durham or Ketton Ox was a celebrated record-breaker bred by Charles Colling of Ketton Farm near Haughton-le-Skerne, Darlington, County Durham in 1796. It was sold for 140 pounds sterling and weighed 168 stone in about 1801. It was only one of a number of enormous cattle bred in County Durham in the late C18. Its names and images were popular for inn signs up a down the land for generations. Hope that this helps.
