I'm delighted to say that our ancestor, John Turner, had the good sense to marry somebody with an unusual surname. Susanna Putterill married John Turner in 1827 in Kimbolton. By 1841 she appears to have been dead and he was living with her family of Putterills in George Lane. There is even a Putterill Yard where others of the family are residing. By 1851 every last Putterill had disappeared. I've been able to find some of them in the 1881 census, but I'd love to know where they were in 1851. If anybody falls across them, would you please let me know? Some of them were born in Kimbolton, others in Biggleswade in Bedfordshire - they seem to have moved between the two places.
