Good Evening I am reasearching the names LEA and WALKER My grandparents GEORGE LEA and ELIZABETH ne Walker lived in around the village of Chatteris. They died in 1931 on the 15 and 16 May and they are buried in Somersham Church yard There funeral was coverd by the local paper. I have been lucky in the fact I have traced the LEA'S back to 1746 in Wiltshire but it is ELIZABETH LEA ne WALKER family that I can not trace further back than the 1820. Her father WILLIAM WALKER married in 1845 at Upwell to SARAH MARKLEY. He gave his fathers name as JAMES and all I have found on him which was a few years back is he married twice His first wife was ANN WALKER. banns read on the 16th /07/1822 ( Piddly cum Fenton Marriage Register 1754-1837) Ann died in childbirth a year later 6/08/1823 and her son Jospeh died age 3w on the 13/08/1823 ( also from the parish register and the NBI). In 1826 JAMES WALKER widower married ELIZABETH BROWN Sp on the 29/03/1826. I have been unable to get back any further than this and also I have been unable to trace WILLIAM WALKER birth, which from my working out of his age on his wedding (19) should be about 1827. I have been unable even to trace him before or just after his parents marriage. As I hope to be able at some time to travel back to Huntingdon to do further researh some suggestion as to how to procced would be welcome. "Steve"
