    1. Clark & Sanderson @ Upwood/Woodwalton/Ramsey 1800-1881
    2. Lynn Sheren
    3. A very brief introduction of my self. My name is Lynn Sheren and I live in State of Michigan in the United States. I am researching my family history, which includes the surnames of Clark and Sanderson, some od whom were born, lived, and died in the Upwood, Woodwalton and Ramsey area of Huntingdonshire, England. I have some information on the two families I would like to share in an effort to get to the second part of my E-mail, a request for research assistance. My Great, Great Grandparents, William Sanderson and Mary Ann Clark, were married in Upwood in 1841. Their parents were listed as John Sanderson and Anthony Clark. In the 1841 Census, William Sanderson was listed as age 25 and not born in Huntingdonshire. Mary Ann Sanderson was listed as age 23 or 25, (two different researchers) and having be born in Huntingdonshire. William and Mary Ann Sandersnon had a son named Frederic Sanderson, born Nov 1843, Woodwalton, Huntingdonshire, England. It was reported in family oral history, that Mary Ann died when Frederic Sanderson was a young boy, and after his mothers funeral, he was placed in an Orphanage, In the 1851 census for Upwood, on fiche by Hunt FHS, it shows a Frederic Sanderson v u 8 Scholar, born Woodwalton, living with a Thomas Clark, age 51 and Elizabeth Clark, age 57. I believe that this Frederic Sanderson is my Great Grandfather. The name, age and place of birth, match. I believe that the Clark's are relative of Mary Ann Clark Sanderson, but who they are, I do not know. Now, I would like to request research assistance. Any help and direction would be greatly appreciated. What does v u in the census stand for? Visitor Unknown? I would like to confirm the 1841census information for William and Mary Ann Sanderson, their ages. I would like to find a birth record for Mary Ann Clark, DOB: 1816-1818, and death record for Mary Ann Sanderson, DOD: before 1851? Most likely in the Woodwalton, Ramsey, Upwood area. Also would like to check for Mary Ann Clark Sanderson's father, Anthony Clark, in the 1841,1851 Census for Upwood. Mary Ann could have been born outside of Upwood. The Thomas Clark age 51, whom Frederic Sanderson was living with, was reported to have been born in Upwood. I am taking a research guess, that Mary Ann was born there too. I am requesting a check in the 1861 census for Upwood, for Frederic Sanderson, who would have been about 16 years of age at the time of this census. I trying to find him and find out if he was placed in an orphanage or was still living with the Clark's. And finally the last wild card request. If William Sanderson, Frederic's father, lived to the 1881 census, he would have been 65 years old. Is that a nightmare search request, or does your census index for 1881 list the names and ages together on the index? Would that be the same for 1861, 1871? For all those who made it this far, I thank you for your attention. And again, any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Lynn Sheren
