Hi Folks, I am wondering if there is any kind soul out there that has easy access to the HRO & could spare a little bit of time to check the following entry. Unfortunately neither the Hemingford Grey Parish Registers or Bishops Transcripts have been filmed by the LDS. I am looking for the baptism of my gggrandfather William BAINES who was born at Hemingford Grey around 1815. His father was Robert BAINES(born 1792 at Uppingham,RUT)), chairmaker/carpenter/builder but I don't know who William's mother was. I believe Robert may have been married 3 times between about 1810 & 1851, probably all at Hemingford Grey. I suspect Grace may have been the name of Robert's first wife. The younger members of Robert's family(no wife) listed in the 1841 census are: Charlotte 20 (probably married by 1851) Ann 15 (1851 census aged 25) John 15 (disappeared in 1851) Henry 13 (disappeared by 1851) Richard 12 (died St Ives Workhouse/sick asylum in 1851) Alice 10 (possibly married by 1851) Hannah 5 (died 1848 St Ives Workhouse/Sick Asylum) By 1851 Robert has a wife called Susan from nearby Houghton. Cheers to all Gillian
