I've not seen the actual slip of paper, but did make sure of each part of the whole. Hubby and mother being ex-Royal Navy, I throughly went over what was written, as it struck me odd about the Navy 'bits' being in Hunts - an in-land shire, as you know. My family and no doubt others, seem to have trouble getting their tongues around "Huntingdonshire". Have you ever heard anyone from over this side try to say Worcestershire? You'd not recognize it! Similar with Huntingdonshire. I asked my cousin to spell it out for me, just to be certain. Definately not Hampshire. Then again, Brambley was written as such. No village with that spelling, that I could find. It's the R.N. H.M.S. Colbourn(e) part which doesn't make sense (to me) with the village / shire name. Seems like two pieces of two addresses, put together to make one. Unless it's a stone frigate. Am not familar with any in-land ones in the UK, only the usual, on the coasts. Thank you again for your help. I truly appreciate it. Toni ~ Ontario
