Hi Listers, I have queried GARRATT's before when belonging to this list and have made contact with alot of GARRATT searchers. This time i am after something specific. Kate Ellen BAINES dau of Thomas BAINES and Jane POLLARD born 27th March 1872 Uppingham Rutland, married Thomas Weston GARRATT of Yaxley in Peterborough 26th Oct 1896. They lived in Peterborough until at least 1901 and had three children there. Thomas was a career soldier. I know he was in Halifax, Nova Scotia in Sept 1905. A post card was received by his family, telling them that ' we' will be home before Christmas, hopefully. I do not know whether ' we ' means his regiment, or his family of Kate Ellen and children. Kate was on the 1901 census, in Peterborough, with Thomas and children, but then disappears from the face of the earth. In 1920 Thomas re married, Emily Elizabeth FROST nee TEAR. So what happened to Kate Ellen ??. I cannot find a death for her, could they have divorced ?? Any suggestions, help or ideas would be greatly appreciated Sue Adamson Australia
