My GGGGrandfather was Daniel HUGHES, born about 1787, the son of John HUGHES and Elizabeth BLUNT. Daniel married Elizabeth Spencer at Sawtry in 1812 and I have traced 5 children, Thomas, Sarah, Elizabeth, Mary and John. Elizabeth being my GGGrandmother. Incidently, HUGHES has been spelt HEWS and EWES on some original documents and even Daniel has been transcribed as David on my Great Great Grandmother's marriage certificate!
