Trying to fit all my names into the subject line didn't work! EDIS, prob Yaxley, C18 SHERMAN/SHARMAN, Elton, C17; Yaxley, C18; Holme, C19 HARLOCK, prob Yaxley, C18 ELLINGTON, prob Yaxley or Holme, C19 NOBLE, prob Elton or Yaxley, C17 KINGSTON, prob Elton, C16 The main line is the SHARMAN one: they started in Elton but over the centuries were recorded as "of Elton and Yaxley", "of Yaxley and Holme" etc. Most of the early Sherman men were gardeners; later generations became farmers and ag labs. The "probably" category is for wives: my cousin who traced the family back to 1594 is "not interested in genealogy" (!!!) and hasn't noted wives' parishes of origin, so I've put them here as "prob" from their husbands' parishes. Any rellies out there? Phoebe
