    1. Re: Litchfields
    2. Hello Huntingdon list and, in particular, Jim Bundy. I have been reading the Eaton Socon postings with interest and one entry caught my eye. The 8th May 1831 saw a burial of John Litchfield aged 8. I am connected to the Derbyshire LITCHFIELDS and there is a big research project being undertaken. However, a particular family has disappeared. Robert LITCHFIELD of Duffield Derbys born 1774 married Sarah JZZARD born 1801 at St Ippollits and had children David 1802, Ann 1802, Sarah 1805, William 1808, Robert 1811, Lewis 1817 and frederick 1822 The children were all listed as being born in Gravely, Herts. I am unable to find Gravely in my modern Herts atlas although I see several GravelEy Roads etc in the Stevenage area. I do, however, see Gravely the other side of St Neots. These children do not reappear later when the family moved back to Derbyshire nor do they appear in their father's will. Where, therefore, did they die or did they remain in the Gravely area when their father moved north again. If anyone had any info at all on any Litchfields (any time frame) in the Hunts are, we would be most grateful. Yours, Elaine Saunders Herts Does any

    2. Hi listers, Can SKS please help? I have an obituary of one of my Gt Uncles dating back to 1935 from the local paper. It mentions that he belonged to the Hospital Sunday Parade committee, and also it quotes - The cortege was proceeded by Bros Pickard and Ellington, secretary of 'The Abbey Lodge of the Loyal Order of Acient Shepherds' with crooks under which the body passed at the gates of the cemetery and again on leaving the chapel. Has any one heard of either of these organisations, and can tell me anything about them? Thanks Paula Researching Dawson,Kilby, Shotbolt in the Ramsey area.

    3. Hi All I'm posting my interest. I have an Alice PEEl who married Matthew Chestney my great-grandfather in Norfolk. Alice is listed on the 1881 and 1891 census as being born in Somersham. So far I haven't been able to trace her birth at all. Does anyone have any connections or copies of the parish register and could look for me? She is listed as being 39 on the 1891 census and 27 on the 1881 which would put her birth around 1852/1854 Any help would be greatly appreciated TIA Sharon:0) _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.

    1. Re: Subject Line for Hunts messages
    2. Linda Clapp
    3. You can set up mail rules in Outlook express to sort mail according to, for example, whomever sent it. I have my Hunts mail sorted automatically into that folder (which I set up), other lists into their folders and directly addressed mail into another. It's a great method for those who don't like the digest mode (like me!). Go to TOOLS then MESSAGE RULES then MAIL and use the help menu if you need to. They had another son and daughter before moving. I would like to try and find out who Edward STONE 's parents are, and more information about Mary's father Thomas PHILLIPS. (Who was his wife, where is he buried, did he come to Nova Scotia, etc.) And help or ideas where I can look for information, will be appreciate very much. Thanks. Kathryn

    3. Dear Elizabeth, If you subscribe in digest mode you don't have this problem - all the messages in one e-mail, labelled HUNTINGDON! I have seen other lists where WRY (West Riding) or other things are added and I don't like it at all. I find it detracts from the messages - but then we get all our gen email in digest form. Obviously this is my personal preference, but my most used lists don't do this. 1. Subject Line for Hunts messages
    2. Elizabeth York
    3. Dear List holder Please could I make a request that would make life easier for me ! Would it be possible to add something like [HUN] automatically to the subject line for the Huntingdon messages. This happens on the lists for Leicester & Northants and enables me to sort incoming mail & avoid messages being deleted as bulk mail automatically. Would this be possible ? Hopefully !
