    3. I couldn't resist copying out these pages for several reasons. First, the Thomas Bundy listed is I'm sure the one who with his family were kicked back to his native parish of Little Barford in 1758. Secondly, there's John Oakley's wife. I'm not sure yet how these 2 are related to me, but I'm sure they are. Now, that's my own interest. Also, contains interesting information about foodstuffs and cloth/clothing purchases (for the poor?), lots of the poor listed, and an interesting set of entries concerning the illness and funeral expense for John Male. Dear Listers, I am related (through the CLIFTONs) to some (late) FISHERs at Huntingdon, notably Edward Henry FISHER, who kept The Fountain Hotel in the 1880s, his widow, Mrs Mary Jane FISHER (nee ALLEN), who also kept The Fountain and, later, The George Hotel, in the early 1900s, and their son Edward Henry FISHER, who was a Draper, Milliner, Hosier, Glover, Tailor, Hatter, etc. at two shops in the High Street, numbers 107 and 121, around 1910.     3. BALMER As BALMER (Baumer, Bawmer, Balmour, Ballimer etc.) is not a common name, I am building up a UK-wide archive of them (pre-1900). This already exceeds 8,000 people and is proving useful to others. Hopefully it will be live on the net in the autumn. Although Huntingdon does not appear to have had many BALMER residents, I would welcome any contributions, and if I can be of help please let me know. One family in particular is posing problems. On 2 Aug 1831, James BALMER, an ornamental plasterer of Huntingdon, married Elizabeth, daughter of William BARNARD at Brampton, Huntingdon. He and his family later appear in London, Cheltenham and many other places, belived to be connected with decorative plastering and general plastering work on new housing developments. Some of the family emigrated to Canada and the United States and, as the expression has it, 'multiplied abundantly'. Any information on where this James BALMER came from, or indeed any information on him, would be very gratefully received by a large number of people. Thanks in anticipation, Jim Balmer

    3. Dear Listers, The Grimsby Pals, who were part of 101 Brigade, 34th Division had followed the Cambs Suffolks into the battle on the 9th April 1917. The two Battalions invariably fought together. Indeed on the 1st day of the Battle of the Somme, the Cambs Suffolks had followed the Grimsby Pals into battle - Both Battalions suffering horrendous caualties.     3. In the 1871 census for Tansor Northamptonshire there is a Joseph PITTS born Yaxley and his wife Elizabeth born St. Ives both in Huntingdonshire. My question is where would the birth and marriage certificates for these parishes be housed? A distant relative had a researcher do work for him and she thought they originated outside Northants.
