    1. Births, Marriages and Deaths - Cambridgeshire Index Project
    2. Martin Edwards
    3. Dear Listers, Taken from the Cambridgeshire Councty Council Website today: "Births, Marriages and Deaths - Cambridgeshire Index Project Working with volunteers from the Cambridgeshire Family History Society the Cambridgeshire Registration Service is to allow access to index data for births, marriages and deaths over the internet. From 10th September 2001 access to birth and death data will be available, with marriages to follow shortly after. Once live the site will contain listings of those records indexed to date. The information will be available to search, and link to application forms ready to print and submit with the correct reference to the correct Register Office. It will obviously take some time to index all the data across the County. Anyone wishing to volunteer to index data in a Cambridgeshire Register Office should contact Wendy Doyle at [email protected]" See http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/sub/register/cambsindex.htm Regards, Martin Edwards Chairman - Cambridgeshire Family History Society http://www.cfhs.org.uk Maintainer - Cambridgeshire History Portal http://www.cambridgeshirehistory.com Maintainer - Local Ancestors http://www.localancestors.com/ Webmaster - GenWeb Cambridgeshire http://www.rootsweb.com/~engcam Webmaster - GenWeb Huntingdonshire http://www.rootsweb.com/~enghun Webmaster - GenWeb Bedfordshire http://www.rootsweb.com/~engbdf Maintainer - GENUKI Cambridgeshire pages http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/CAM/ Maintainer - GENUKI Huntingdonshire pages http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/HUN/ Maintainer - GENUKI Bedfordshire pages http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/BDF/ Personal Homepages http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Martin_Edwards_2 mailto: [email protected]

    1. MARSHALL of Water Newton
    2. bladon.england
    3. Hello, Is anyone else tracing the MARSHALL family of Water Newton? We have a DANIEL MARSHALL and I think his wife was called CHARLOTTE. Their daughter HARRIETTE married GEORGE JACKSON of Tibshelf Derbyshire, in 1876. Daniel was still alive then, but by 1881 had died, although Charlotte was still living in Water Newton. Harriette and George went to live in Tibshelf, Derbys. We are just starting this research, so have no other details, but if anyone else has these people in their histories we would be very pleased to hear from them. Thank you Valerie and Tony Bladon Chesterfield, Derbys

    2. Peter Freshwater
    3. The Durham or Ketton Ox was a celebrated record-breaker bred by Charles Colling of Ketton Farm near Haughton-le-Skerne, Darlington, County Durham in 1796. It was sold for 140 pounds sterling and weighed 168 stone in about 1801. It was only one of a number of enormous cattle bred in County Durham in the late C18. Its names and images were popular for inn signs up a down the land for generations. Hope that this helps. 1. In Yaxley, looking for Stone, Philips, Balls
    2. Kathryn Jeffers
    3. Hi When I first join this list, I ask for help in searching for Stone and Philips in Yaxley, Huntingdonshire, now I am going to re-ask, adding another surname, Balls. I am looking for parents, siblings, and ancesters of Edward B. Stone, and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Philips in Yaxley, Huntingdonshire. They had at least two children before moving to Nova Scotia, Canada. Mary Elizabeth Philips was born 27 September 1824 in Yaxley, daughter of Thomas and Mary (unknown) Philips. Baptisms on October 23rd, 1824. For Edward Stone, his father is list on his marriage entry as Edward Stone, mother unknown. However, in the marriage record from the Family History Centre, it states that on Sept 20, 1849. Mary Phil(l)ips, spinster, born in Yaxley, father - Thomas Phil(l)ips, Labourer. Married Edward BALLS, bachelor, Labourer, Yaxley, father - Edward Stone, labourer. Witness - Thomas Seals, and Sarah Baker. For the Baptisms of his two children, their last name is also BALLS. Edward - Feb 9, 1851, and Robert - Dec 26, 1852, children of Edward and Mary BALLS. After arrived in Nova Scotia, they want by the surname of STONE. And Edward's middle name became Bauld. Any help in finding information about Edward's parents or siblings, whether STONE or BALLS; Mary's parents or siblings; and ancesters of both, will be appreciated. I will like to find out why they want by BALLS and then STONE. Edward and Mary were my great great grandparents. Thanks Kathryn
