    3. Hello List. Like everyone does, from time to time, I have hit the ' wall ', in regards to my research. I am researching the RIDDLE / RIDDELL family of Stibbington,Huntingdon. Robert Riddell X Charlotte Palmer mar 1834 Stibbington children Ann c 1836 James c 1838 Robert died in 1838. The 1841 Census for Huntingdon lists James and Ann as still living in Huntingdon, but they are not shown in the parish of Stibbington. Family folklore has it, that they went to live with relatives on a farm. My problem. Is there an easy way to find what parish of Huntingdon they were living in during 1841. Or (horrors),will I have to look at every parish till I find them ?? regards Graeme ( Queensland, Aus )

    1. Thurley/Thurlow
    2. Raymond J. Thurlow
    3. Greetings from down under Any suggestions how I should approach this dilemma? According to the 1851 census (Milton CAM), my Robert THURLEY was born c1802 at Conington, CAM (?). I purposely included a ? beside CAM because I am seriously wondering if Conington, CAM is correct. After much searching I have been unsuccessful in finding a baptism record for Robert THURLEY in CAM for that time period give or take a year or so. He married Mary WOODS at Milton CAM 11 Oct 1829 and was buried Milton CAM 6 Jan 1875. Their children were known as both THURLEY and later as THURLOW. In trying to find Robert a set of parents, I have only managed to find one family at Conington CAM viz John THURLEY (bc1772, bap Swavesey CAM); m Conington 11 Oct 1796; bur Conington CAM 30 Apr 1835. His wife was Ann WARD, b c1775 Conington CAM; bur Conington CAM 1825. All their children were bap at Conington between 1797 and 1817 but there is no mention of a Robert bc1802. In fact there is a gap with no children between James (1801) and Charles (1807) which seems strange. My wife and I leave Australia on Friday, 5 October and will be visiting Cambridge County Record Office and maybe Huntingdon (if that's necessary) sometime between 18 and 24 October specifically to research this matter. Is it possible that Robert THURLEY could have been baptised elsewhere? Maybe some nearby town in HUN such as Swavesey, St Ives, Hilton, Yelling? All assistance very welcome and any suggestions to guide us on our way. ,-"'~ #% ,, Raymond J. 3. Hi Folks This is my second attempt to get a message on the list. I now know how the other went astray. Hope someone can help. I am researching my EDIS connection in relation to my great grandfather ROBERT EDIS born 5th Oct 1843 in Glatton. He was the youngest son (9 children) of THOMAS EDIS and ANN(e) TABOR or REBER. Thomas, born 6th May 1792, was the son of MATTHEW EDIS and MARY HOWES, both of Glatton. I have searched the LDS microfilm of the Parish Registers of Glatton, but for the period prior to the late 1780s have had little success. I am interesting in establishing whether Ann(e) TABOR and Ann(e) REBER are the same person and for any information on them and also on Matthew EDIS and Mary HOWES. Ted Arrowsmith
