Hi, I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to reply to my mailings, I now have forms for everything I need. Dear Listers Karen Scott enquires about family research forms. For two family Reunions, we have devised an enquiry form to assist those providing information, the first a general form which provides Data for five generations of family, the other a follow up to update data previously received. I attach these ( in Word '98 format) for what they are worth. All you need to do is replace the family name with yours and tidy up the approach. Cheers Jim Martin
Hi, Firstly thanks to every one who replied to my previous posting. What I am looking for is just a simple form that can be used for recording events from parish registers, I don't really have time to get any by post as I am going on Tuesday, I am not very good at making my own spreadsheets etc. Any further suggestions? Hi Karen, There are plenty of forms available on the LDS Family search website, which can be printed . Hi, I was wondering if anyone know of any site where I can some forms, rather like GENFILE forms, that I could print off and take to the record office or anywhere that supplies them, I don't normally use them, but I am taking my friend with me and I thought it would be easier to fill them in than writing them all down. Dear Chris, I tried the URL below and it registers as not being a page. We are particularly interested in the Warners of Kimbolton. Just out of interest we have a Christabella Batt also on the maternal blachford line of this family - any connection? Born 1580 Devizes, Wiltshire? The following is a list of what appears to be the IGI's collection of Hunts records I have removed the actual batch numbers and dates of records, to see the full list and all batch numbers for the UK (not Scotland) http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~tyeroots/index4.htmlo Note that this is not necessarily a complete UK list as other batch numbers do occasionally turn up. Elaine, The IGI is a good tool for finding information but is by no means a complete resource. The most up to date version is that on the LDS web site at www.lds.org but the rule is always to check the IGI results against the referenced source as it has been known to be notoriously inaccurate in places. The only real place to find the information you want is from the local records for an area. The IGI is good at pointing you in the right direction. Hi Elaine, You will hardly ever find anyone in Huntingdonshire in the IGI. My understanding is that the bishop there was unwilling to allow the LDS access to any church records for filming, etc. :( I hope that changes some day (not LDS myself, but grateful for all their hard work on these records) Jim Bundy ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, October 22, 2001 2:27 PM Subject: IGI > Hello, List, > > I searched the IGI some time ago for some ancestors but could not find > them. Kathryn, Several reasons for this. 1. The Board of GENUKI decided a centralised system was required. 2. Ian Argyll who maniatined the list moved to the Cornwall pages and I took on GENUKI Hunts but not the surname list. 3. The task of maintaining such lists with the number of changing email addresses leant itself to an automated rather than manual system 4. Currently there is no method of importing the details into the new system. Each submitter needs to add to the new list. Eventually the GENUKI list will be closed and deleted but has remained open to allow those hwo have entered their names to resubmit to the new system. Your details have not been lost as the old list remains on-line. 5. Eventually the new list will allow those enquiring to search by name or area or both. The GENUKI board considers that this will increase the chance of contacts being made. I check it now and again and the old list, which now seems to be discontinued had all my interests on it, while neither of the new ones do. Why were the old interests not checked and transferred? Why have we now got two lists? Both have only a handful of names and it seems a terrible shame to lose the contacts of the original list, which have been built up over a couple of years at least. Does anybody know if the Cambridgeshire BMD's have been indexed yet and what is the address Thanks

Hi Susan, The entry: Wm Hawkings for Wd Hattley 0/1/6 As I understand it, means that Widow Hattley owned the property, rented from her by William Hawkings (could be one of mine). The rate of 1 shilling, 6 pence was assessed to pay into the Poor fund for parish care of the poor. I'm quite willing to be corrected on any of this. Hi all Has anyone access to the Personal Names Index for Huntingdonshire? I am looking for the birth place of my Gt x 4 grandfather - Abraham King born 1767. I know he moved to Buckden where he married in 1788 and also died there, but I need to know his birth place. Thanks Sue Wells --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!?
