Denise is absolutely right. I would add that Edmonton RD also includes Waltham Abbey in Essex, as well as Waltham Cross and Cheshunt in Herts and Edmonton and Enfield in Middx. This has been the case since 1837 when the Poor Law Union boundaries were altered and BMD registration began. Furthermore, as the censuses also followed the Poor Law areas, all these places also come under the piece numbers for "Edmonton, Middlesex" in the various censuses. You've no idea what confusion this causes the poor souls on the Essex Rootsweb list! It also includes North London areas such as Wood Green and Tottenham.
