    3. Yes, this would have been the Four Swans inn in Waltham Cross. It dated from early medieval times (13th or 14tht C?) and was demolished c.1970 to make way for a shopping centre, although there still are four swans on an 'archway' of sorts over the road in the original location. These swans are fibreglass repros installed after local complaints about the loss of the originals. Pity they didn't complain a bit earlier, and save the inn! I will send you a scan of an old postcard of the pub offlist.
