Hello everyone, I've just learned that Charles Carter GODFREY lived in Perry Green, Much Hadham, during the WWII and believed to have died there. (born 1861)Because of the common name, we've not been able to zero in on his death in the Civil Registration Index. The LDS website indicates the microfilmed burials stop at 1928. Can someone please tell me what cemetery someone from Perry Green, Much Hadham, might be buried in? What would be the newspapers for this area to possibly find an obituary? I would not have thought it a very common name taking the first names in conjunction with the surname) in that part of Hertfordshire. Try looking for entries under Bishops Stortford, then Ware. Depending where you live, it might be cheaper to look on line in Freebmd or www.1837online.com than travel to Herts R.O. or the Colindale Newspaper Archive or employ someone to do so.
