Hi Patricia On the transcript of villages for my 1851 census it is down as Cathie Hamlet, but I must admit that on the Description of the Enumeration District and on the first page it looks like Cashie. Hope that's of some help.     3. Thanks Thelma. Both names I wanted, though the Leavesdon was clearer. Cashie/Cathie...well both near enough. What would a hamlet be then....in size and number of houses? A sort of cheaper place to live, or just to be "in the country". I see my sheet of the census has any number of Farms around that one address of Nascot Cottage. sounds countrified doesn't it? many thanks.
