Thanks Derick, I did actually have this. When I contacted Herts.Archives they replied "with reference to your criminal ancestors"!! I know that probably four of the immediate family were transported and a Cornelius SEARLE was involved in the crime that cost John his life but Cornelius (and possible Levi) have just surfaced - even the SEARLE descendants in Australia were unsure that Cornelius was in fact related, as he was born in Suffolk. I am awaiting the Hertford Mercury report of the coroners inquest, but still have no idea why Cornelius was born in Suffolk.
