Her mother Fanny Tall, was in the workhouse in Hitchin but was transfered to Ampthill the day before the birth of her son Percy Tall. She had her other daughter Harriet with her but not Mary. Now was she left with someone else or maybe she was living at her future husband's house in Hitchin - Arthur Omant. Mary and Arthur married in Hitchin Feb 1873. Thanks Eunice - Australia
