Su.... Will these suit? Throcking Josh DOUTON Head Mar 67 Ag. Lab Herts. Buckland Rhoda do Wife Mar 49 Herts. Cottered Wm do Son U 20 do do James do Son U 17 do do There were only ten dwellings and 51 souls recorded in 1851 so the DOUTONs were easy to find. Even today, driving through Throcking, blink and you've missed it! Nevertheless, it boasted a church and a resident rector in 1851. See http://website.lineone.net/~pjoiner/genuki/HRT/Throcking/index.html for information on Parish Records etc., but for post 1841, the family records centre or HALS are the first places to look, I would have thought.
