To all list I am researching the HAMPTONS who lived in Sawbridgeworth in the middle late 18th century and from notes made some thirty years ago, a George HAMPTON who lived and died in 1793/4 at a small estate called Cherry Orchards, Sawbridgeworth about 4 miles from Bishops Stortford. Could anyone advise me whether the orchard still exists and if so where any records would be kept Alan KL Malaysia -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Sorry can't answer your query. But I married a Nigel Guy Neilson HAMPTON (b.1948) in Enfield Middx 1969, whose father was Edward I believe (I think E.H.W.Hampton). Bishops Stortford is easily in Enfield's 'patch', or the other way around. May find there is a connection some time.
