    3. Susan... Here they be:- Great Hadham Cottage Farm Perry(?) Tye Rebecca CUTMORE Head W 66 Ag Lab (sic!) Sawbridgeworth George CUTMORE Grandson U 17 Great Hadham From adjacent entries in the census return, I believe that this address is what is shown on both the 1883 and modern maps as Perry Green about a mile SSW of the town. I understand that Tye and Green are virtually synonymous. Note that, sometime between 1851 and 1861, Hadham decided it would much rather be Much than Great. Mike

    3. Thanks for the amendment, Mike - I gathered you'd got it slightly adrift when I looked on the map. Never mind, we're all allowed the occasional senior moment (thank goodness!! ;-)) Cheers, Sue ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Chaney" <michaelchaney@blueyonder.co.uk> To: <ENG-HERTFORDSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 10, 2005 11:57 PM Subject: Re: [HRT] Rebecca CUTMORE nee OSBORNE, Much Hadham 1851 > Oops! > > East is East and West is West > And the wrong one I have chose.. > > I wrote:- > > > From adjacent entries in the census return, I believe that this address is > > what is shown on both the 1883 and modern maps as Perry Green about a mile > > SSW of the town. > > That should have been SSE. > > Mike the erroneous Map Man

    3. Hi Mike, Thank you so much for the 1851 census look up. Poor old Rebecca, having to work as an Ag Lab at the age of 66 (although one of my 3G Grandmothers here in Somerset was still apparently working as an Ag Lab when she was in her 80s!). All the best, Sue ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Chaney" <michaelchaney@blueyonder.co.uk> To: <ENG-HERTFORDSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 10, 2005 9:02 PM Subject: Re: [HRT] Rebecca CUTMORE nee OSBORNE, Much Hadham 1851 > Susan... > > Here they be:- > > Great Hadham > Cottage > Farm Perry(?)
