Hi Janet It is very likely my Philip, Believe he was born in Sarratt, got married in St.Albans, moved out of the Sarratt area then later moved back to Sarratt and can be seen on the 1841 census with his children as Philip EDGE, in about 1850 all the EDGE families in Sarratt changed their names to HEDGE, this happens in about 8 families all at the same time From records it looks like he died abt 1858 as they are still there in 1851, but by 1861 it was just Annelope as a widow, her youngest child being 3.
