Hi, I am trying to find where my grandfather William Stacey may have been living in Hoddesdon between 1918 and 1928 when my mother was born. I suspect he was living in Hoddesdon and may be listed as a telephonist in one or more directories covering that period, Can anyone help please? regards Bob Campbell Brisbane

Thanks for your reply Donald, actually he was married shortly before the end of WW1 in Edmonton, as he was wounded and had only one leg. According to his sole surviving son, his parents took up the position at the fledgling telephone exchange near Pauls Lane in Hoddesdon, but he (my uncle) remained in Edmonton and was brought up by his grandparents. In 1928 my mother was born and that was at an address in the High Street, Hoddesdon.
