Hello Peter, I cannot say if any ANSELL's became Cab Drivers in London, there are lots of them all over Hertfordshire. If you can get a record of one of your ANSELL's in the 1851 Census and locate their birthplace then you will have the answer. There are a lot of Census CD's out there now for 1851 as well as a film which the latter are copied from. the relevant County records office will have it or a trip to the Mormon Church will provide it for you. Or, search the internet. All my ANSELL's are ag Labs and there were no cabs in Herts. Herts was a fairly impoverished county in the past from my experience. And there's an Ansell's End at/ near Kimpton. Probably had something to do with someone named Ansell ......
