Hi Mary, I had a quick look at the Social Security Death Index for the USA and there are no Jean Agnes born 1927, but there are some 228 Jean A. listed. Maybe you need a marriage lookup in the UK for the 1944 - 50 time frame. If the children were born UK maybe a first name with mothers maiden name look up might help. Also a possible US State that they lived in.
