Hello all, My G.G.Grandfather Edward Anderson was born in Baldock May 20th 1817 (from my Grans birthday book) but I have not been able to find any record of this to find his parents. He married Ann Berry 29 Oct 1841 in Hitchin. Children were Georgiana b. 1845, Edward b. 1849, John Amos 1853, William b 1857 all in Baldock, and Alfred b.1864 in Canterbury Kent. In the 1851 census I found Edward with wife and son but had to really search to find Georgiana with a Aunt, Sophia Seymour. Any help on finding more info would be appreciated as I understand that parents aren't named on death certs. in UK. Is this correct? I am sorry, it was a very common name in the area at the time. I would say this is the same Ann ANDERSON who appeared with her unmarried sister Sophia SEYMOUR and (presumably) grandchildren Sophia ANDERSON age 27 and Georgiana ANDERSON age 5 - all born in Baldock. The marriage entry for Edward ANDERSON and Ann BERRY has John ANDERSON as Edward's father so putting it all togethe you have John & Ann ANDERSON as parents. Hi Barbara From the British Vital Records cd 2nd edition ANDERSON, Edward Christening Gender: Male Christening Date: 29 Jun 1817 Recorded in: Baldock, Hertfordshire, England Father: John ANDERSON Mother: Anne Source: FHL Film 1040649 Dates: 1813 - 1880 and another child ANDERSON, Sophia Christening Gender: Female Christening Date: 1 Jun 1823 Recorded in: Baldock, Hertfordshire, England Father: John ANDERSON Mother: Ann Source: FHL Film 1040649 Dates: 1813 - 1880 In the 1851 census there is a John Anderson born in Baldock 1781 as a lodger with a family but it says unmarried. .. that may also mean a widow.
